We are consulting on emerging plans for redevelopment of the redundant office site at Devonport House, Keynsham.

Currently onsite is a complex of office buildings, including a Victorian villa and other interconnected buildings dating from the 1950s/1960s, as well as a large car park. The offices have been vacant since April 2024 and there is little prospect of the site being re-occupied in its current form, with the existing office accommodation falling short of modern standards and occupier requirements. 

After careful consideration we believe new homes would be the best use of this brownfield site going forward, to help meet local housing needs.

A team of specialist consultants are now preparing an outline proposal for a new high quality residential housing development of around 50 dwellings. This would involve demolishing the existing office buildings, except for Devonport House, originally known as ‘Fairview’, which would be converted into apartments.

The scheme will respect surrounding properties, ensuring that open space and landscaping is retained and enhanced on the site boundaries. It will also include on‑site parking, and the design team is looking at measures to improve the main site access.
